If I could only share one thing with you about me it would be that I am a very good listener. Don't get me wrong, I can still talk with the best of 'em! However, I have spent years interacting with all kinds of different people and in my experience being a good listener is much more valuable than being a good "talker". I really enjoy meeting new people, learning about them, and helping contribute to their lives in a positive way. The only way I can do is by listening and being truly interested in what they have to say. Whether you're feeling bad, have exciting news, or just want to chat...call me, my phone is always on!
 
Aside from that I'm hopelessly addicted to tools and just about all things mechanical! Women, you think you love shoes? I would bet it's nothing compared to my fondness for the wrench. Given that, it's probably no stretch of the imagination that I love working on cars and am a darn good handy man. If I find something I don't know how to fix, then I learn!
 
The best thing about having my own business is the freedom to sleep in! I've spent most of my life waking up to alarm clocks of all different shapes and sizes; trust me, I've hated EVERY one of them. Whether I am shaken from a deep sleep at 4:30 am or nudged from a light sleep at 7:30 am, one thing remains the same: it is always stressful, both mentally AND physically! Sleeping in (and knowing I am free to do so) improves my focus, increases my energy, and reduces my stress level to almost zero. Now that I can let my body decide when it wakes up there is only one thing to say...I highly recommended it to EVERYBODY!
 
For me, it all started when I realized that either the "UN" in "UNEMPLOYED" eventually had to be eliminated, or I had to go on a quest to find the mythical money tree (not the place with the big green caterpillar). Not working had me very accustomed to being a dependable, helpful-hand for all my friends and family. Whether someone needs a ride to the airport, their car fixed, a last-minute dog sitter, or anything else you can imagine, I truly love always being available to help. However, not having a consistent cash flow changed my whole dynamic and getting a job meant sacrificing the very thing I wanted to preserve: TIME! Although it has taken work, having my own business has given me the best of both worlds: a consistent income AND plenty of time to make the lives of those I care about a little easier.
