Some of the topics or activities for these coaching calls include: Setting up your marketing system (websites, autoresponders, advertising, etc.) Describing and recommending lead generation programs we have in place, e.g., a direct mail campaign; exclusive ("non-shared") targeted leads (specific to our company) provided by a professional lead vendor; access to tools you can use to develop an ongoing ezine advertising campaign (very cost-effective!); and marketing you can develop on your own (with guidance and advice), e.g., forum participation; PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising; social networking websites; etc. You listen to me calling prospects - A great way to increase your comfort level and confidence is to listen to other Consultants making calls and then adapting what you learn from those calls to your own style. I listen to your calls to prospects, live or recorded, and offer feedback to further develop your listening and communication skills I review your websites, emails, ads and suggest ways to improve your copy; teach you how to conduct Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns and share some of my most effective keywords, headlines, ads, lead capture page modifications, and bid strategies. I am easily accessible via instant messenger throughout the day and evening. Because with instant messengers you can tell when someone is online or not, you will instantly know when I'm available and when I'm not--usually because I'm with my kids, with a client, walking my dogs, or hanging out with friends. Group Coaching (somewhat dependent on the team you join although there is a lot of cross-line support--more than I've seen in any other company) - In my group, some of the group coaching calls available to you include:
Direct Sales and Network Marketing Training - One of the key features of the training one receives with this company is learning the nuts and bolts of how to make money with a Direct Sales/Network Marketing business model. For example, we discuss the importance of: Learning how to develop oneself as an authority or expert. Very important since most people join a company because of the combination of what the company offers and the individual characteristics of the sponsor ("people join people"). Regarding and running your business as if you were already making $50000 per month; in other words, coming from a place of abundance and confidence as opposed to desperation and fear--and how to cultivate this mindset. And closely related: Developing systems and day-to-day business practices that emulate as close as possible how you would run your business if you were making multiple six figures. I recommend asking yourself regularly, "If I were making $50,000 per month how would I be running this business?" The answer often reveals strategies and business practices you otherwise would not consider and which you can at least begin to put in place. By running your business as the million dollar enterprise it is, you will reach your goal of a six- or seven-figure income that much faster! Just one quick example: Hiring a "virtual consultant" to take care of clerical and other repetitive tasks that do not require your direct involvement. Another closely related concept we discuss is: Determining how much an hour of your time is worth. Is your time worth $10 an hour? I bet not--your time is most likely worth at least $100 per hour. Think of it this way: Calculate how much you want to earn each year (or each month) and then work backwards from there. For example, if you want to earn $200,000 per year, working 45 weeks at 40 hours per week, then you need to earn $111.11 per hour. Since most people work at the most four productive hours (working on tasks that directly lead to making money) in an eight hour work day, you ought to think in terms of your time being worth about $225 per hour if you want to make $200k a year. Thus, if you need to make $225 per productive work hour, you will want to spend at least half your time on tasks that generate income, e.g., calling prospects, writing emails or ad copy, setting up marketing campaigns, training your Consultants (since the more customers and Consultants they develop, the more money you make), etc. You do not want to spend a lot of time answering routine correspondence, performing repetitive office tasks, answering non-productive phone calls, surfing the Internet, etc. You will want to contract ("outsource") those tasks to someone else, e.g., a Virtual Assistant, one of your teenage or young adult children (who can learn a lot about business by helping you), an assistant who comes to your home a few hours a week, etc. Now, you might be thinking, "I can't afford that!" or something along those lines. And in the very beginning that might very well be true. But you should be thinking in terms of when will you reach the point that refusing to delegate non-productive tasks to someone else will cost you money. Phrased as a question, ask yourself, "When will it make sense to pay someone $10 an hour so that I can spend more time on my $225-per-hour tasks?" Integrating a "Law of Attraction" philosophy with an understanding that "No Action = No Results" no matter how well you cultivate a Law of Attraction mindset. In other words, one can develop a Law of Attraction outlook at the same time one engages in specific, planned action every day that is designed to generate revenue. Consequently, one becomes even more attractive to prospective customers or business partners. Thus we emphasize how Attitude and Action interact and build on each other in a synergistic fashion. How to "posture" oneself (physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually) when talking with prospects. For this one, it really helps to listen to successful marketers talking with prospects and conducting product presentation calls--opportunities you have several times a week on our conference calls. After awhile you begin to "soak up" and incorporate the posture of the pros into your own conversations with prospects and potential customers. Obviously, it's important to be genuine and honest so I'm not talking about imitating others; rather, I mean that you will begin to acquire an intuitive understanding of what it means to have "good posture" when talking with prospects. The next item in this list is an example of one crucial aspect of a confident, effective posture: The crucial importance of achieving the paradoxical combination of "not caring" if a person signs up at the same time that one's primary goal is caring about the development and support of your current and future team members. The more you "get" this paradox, the more successful your business will be. (Many newcomers to owning a home business scoff at this idea and say you should always care about anyone you talk with and that "not caring" is unkind and counter-productive. Understanding why that notion is wrong is an important milestone.) How to effectively listen and communicate with prospects and customers. This is one of those skills that most of us think we possess ... but we don't. Or at least we can do it better than we are. And I say this as a psychologist who has practiced effective listening and communication skills for 20 years. I still must frequently take a deep breath and really concentrate on listening fully and completely. I must remind myself to stop thinking about what I'm going to say and fully attend to what the other person is saying. Here's the bottom line: The more you consistently listen intently and communicate clearly, the more money you will make and the more people you will help.
